A Day Trip to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane!

Holding a koala and petting a kangaroo were some of the top items on my Australian bucket list. (What’s left? Seeing a Lushsux wall, teaching a yoga class, and learning how to surf!) I got the chance to go to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary today and check BOTH off my bucket list!

If you’re in Brisbane, you definitely have to check out Lone Pine. It’s one of the only places where you can hold a koala, and there are tons of other animals to see as well. It’s one of the top-rated animal sanctuaries in the world! Use this blog post to plan your day.

Four Playlists For Yogis Who Prefer Hip-Hop Over Nature Sounds

Update: I’ve added some new hip-hop playlists! Check them out!

Want some poses for these playlists? I recently published an ebook on Amazon! Get flowing!

I’ve seen hip-hop yoga studios, hip-hop classes, Namasdrake, Yoncé Yoga, etc. And you know what? I love it. Sure, if you’re going to a yoga class to clear your mind and you want peace and quiet, by all means, hip hop yoga doesn’t sound appealing. But if a little Drake puts you in a good mood and keeps you in your Warrior 2 a little longer, go for it.

Travel makes everything seem more romantic, but dating while backpacking isn't all it's cracked up to be. My little ramble on what romance has been like.

Not Dating, Just Dreaming: Romance and Backpacking

My 12th grade English teacher was a woman with straight, grey hair who introduced me to my favorite book and a poem that was my favorite, but has since been replaced. I’ve stuffed high school memories into the deepest pits of brain for my confidence’s sake, but I’ve always remembered a moment from that class.

Yoga After Work! | Beat, Broke, Backpacking

NEW ONLINE YOGA: Yoga Flow for After Work!

Hey friends!

I’ve finally got a new yoga flow for you! I recorded the audio for this flow in Austin, and filmed the video in Australia! I originally called this flow the Uber Driver flow (it starts out by gently stretching legs that have been sitting all day), but hey, anyone who’s sitting or standing around at work could use these gentle stretches and backbends. So it’s now the Yoga Flow for After Work!

All you need is your mat and your lovely soul…so enjoy!

FREE YOGA / NOMAD MEET UPS IN BRISBANE:

I will be hanging out in Brisbane for the next two months or so, and I want to teach a few donation-based classes at my new flat! I was thinking it would be a great opportunity for fellow yogis, Couchsurfers, and nomads to meet up, have a free fitness class, and hang out with like-minded people. If you would like more information, respond to this Couchsurfing event or head on over to my Facebook page!

That’s all for now! Cheers!

Positive Affirmations for Travelers

Hello hello! I thought I’d do a fun post with some affirmations that I’ve been using throughout my travel. I post sometimes about anxiety and fear while traveling, so let’s bring some positivity to the blog, hey? This is a blog about yoga, travel, and sustainable happiness. I enjoyed making these posts and I hope they will bring a smile or a sigh of relief to your day, whether you’re traveling or not!

Fall in Love with Brisbane: Sunday Funday in Southbank

So here I am in Brisbane…let’s write some blog posts about Brisbane then, hey?

Last Sunday, I had a nice little Southbank Sunday Funday with one of my friends. Southbank, right on the Brisbane River (clever name, guys), has a ton of bars, restaurants, and things to do. We spent the whole day pretty much on one street (Grey Street, the main street,) so I figure I’d talk about the day and give some suggestions for anyone passing through Brisbane! I’m really enjoying the city (enjoy my little life update here) and I can’t wait to keep exploring more neighborhoods over the next two months. So let’s go, shall we?  Southbank!

A Month in Australia – What Am I Doing Here?

Hello hello! So I have been in Australia for about a month now, and I wanted to update you on everything that’s been going on. Basically, I’m getting my feet wet and setting up a plan for the next few months. Here are some of the highlights of what I’ve been up to while housesitting and slowly exploring Brisbane.

Lush Christmas 2017: My Favorite Products!

Hey friends! As many of you know, I am working at Lush again for the holidays. Hooray for smelling good and slowly getting over my fears of touching people only if it means we hit our sales targets. After backpacking for four months, using a bath bomb and a body conditioner have been absolute heaven. I love chatting about Lush products, and there are so many good ones this year, so no sponsor, no affiliate links, let’s just chat products!
